Help Children of Wine Industry Workers Earn a Degree
The Juan Nevarez Memorial Scholarship supports the children of California’s vineyard and winery workers. 98 percent of recipients have been the first in their family to enroll in a higher education institution. First-generation students are more likely to have a lower-income family background, lack of support, and inadequate access to resources.
By providing a combination of financial and support services, this program increases graduation rates and develops a qualified workforce that will contribute back to their community.

“Juan’s mission was to help his employees' families reach their full potential. We always admired his dedication to education. It’s an honor to help keep his legacy alive by donating to an amazing cause.”- Chloé Asseo-Fabre, L’Aventure Winery, Donor
Guidance and Mentorship
Financial constraints are not the only barrier to graduation. This program makes a unique investment in a Scholarship Mentor who is a resource to the students throughout their collegiate career.
According to NSPA, “Scholarship providers have a unique opportunity to positively impact student success by also investing in support services that help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally… Students who receive these services are more likely to remain engaged and enrolled, ultimately increasing their chances of graduating and achieving their goals.”
